Dendrobium bensoniae

This stunning species has short to medium canes that produce masses of fragrant, 6 cm white flowers with golden-yellow throats along the stems in spring. A rewarding species for collectors, spectacular when grown into a specimen plant.

Care

• Light: Bright light to full sun, with protection during extreme heat.
• Water: Water generously in spring and summer; reduce watering in winter to allow a short rest.
• Temperature: Cool to warm (8–28 °C).
• Media: Well-drained orchid mix or mounted on cork/fern for best display.
• Fertiliser: Apply balanced fertiliser during active growth; reduce when dormant.
